What is magic in Thunder Bay?
In town magic is a lot of things for a lot of people. It’s a Hobby, it’s a Pastime, it’s a way to get together with friends, and it’s a business. Most of all Magic is, with the risk of sounding kinda sappy, is a community. Everyone who plays adds something to the group. Everyone is a small part of the mosaic that is our magic community.
Enough of that for now let’s get to the good stuff. The skill level of this town is huge I think but I believe it’s too random nobody sticks with one deck, nobody gives their non-net deck a chance. They will bring it to one tournament and if it under performs they scrap it. I am as guilty of this as the rest of you, but no more I think I shall build one Planar Chaos legal deck and play only that in tournaments. If it does not do well I will tweak it until it does perform as well as any deck in the crazy standard format can.
As this Standard format is insanely diverse there are no tier one decks anymore there is only contenders many, many contenders. Therefore anyone can do what I propose with just about any deck. I encourage you all to build your own Planar chaos legal deck to tweak and play without giving up and building the latest net deck. With that being said I will leave it up to you the community to decide which deck style or colour I should play and tweak. Leave a post in the forums under the thread that I set up for this article.
